In 2023, Friends of Mykonos expanded its mission to support the island’s young athletes. The Mykonos girls’ gymnastics team—European medalists despite zero state funding—trained on a cement floor inside a container.
Friends of Mykonos purchased and installed a professional sprung floor from Italy in their training space, drastically reducing injuries and allowing the team to train safely.
